World Homeopathy Day – April 10
World Homeopathy Day is celebrated every year on 10th April in memory of Dr. Hahnemann, the founder of Homoeopathy. Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann was a German physician, who was known for creating the pseudoscientific system of alternative medicine called homeopathy.
According to Dr. Hahnemann, a kind of energy is generated by the vibrations of the active ingredients present in homeopathic medicine, which traditionally occur, this energy destroys the disease. Homeopaths, however, achieve restoration of health by administering a highly diluted remedy, made from a substance that in its natural state would cause the inflicting symptoms in a healthy person.
The theme of World Homeopathy Day 2024 is “It takes care of our health”.
The aim of celebrating World Homeopathy Day is to prepare the strategy and direction of homeopathy in the world, development of national policies, strengthening the safety, quality, and efficiency of homeopathy medicines. The main goal of World Homeopathy week is to raise awareness about homeopathy and improve its reach.
Dr. Hahnemann’s quest to truly understand the nature of the disease and find a scientifically sound methodology of treatment resulted in the system he dubbed “homeopathy”. Homeopathy, which comes from the Greek word homoios means like or similar and pathos means suffering or illness. Homeopathy medical practice is being adopted in more than a hundred countries of the world. India is the leading country in the world in the field of homeopathy. Treatment of many epidemics is possible with homeopathy, but it has not been used enough yet.
On the day of World Homeopathy Day, seminars, conferences, camps, and roadshows are organized in all the homeopathy colleges of the country and popularizing homeopathy among the masses. On the occasion of World Homeopathy Day, an International Homoeopathic Conference is organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in which many representatives from India and abroad participate.
