St. Patrick’s Day – Wishes, Quotes and Message
Every year on March 17, the Irish and the Irish-at-heart across the globe observe St. Patrick’s Day. The day started as religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has now been observed globally. The day celebrates the Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and a whole lot of green.
St. Patrick the patron saint of Ireland was born in year 387 at Kilpatrick, near Dumbarton. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year on March 17th, honoring the Irish patron saint, Saint Patrick. People all over the world celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with parades, drinking green colored beer, wearing green, four-leaf clovers, gold, leprechauns, rainbows and participating in other religious services.
The symbol of the shamrock used for St Patrick’s Day comes from the story of Saint Patrick using the shamrock to illustrate the Holy Trinity. The three-leafed plant coincided with the Pagan religion’s sanctity of the number three and is the root of the green color theme. St Patrick’s Day eventually evolved from the modest religious dinner into the raucous holiday.
There is a popular saying goes, “everybody’s Irish on St. Paddy’s Day.” Share the luck and magic of the Irish by sending our unique wishes to your friends and family this St. Patrick’s Day!
