Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayaram Jayalalitha suffer a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening and is very critical.
Jayalalithaa Jayaraman, commonly referred to as Amma and Puratchi Thalaivi by members of her party, is a former film star who has been Tamil Nadu’s chief minister four times. She is on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and life support systems and continues to be very critical. Doctors say don’t worry, Amma will be fine. we are telling cadres don’t worry. God is with Amma, she will come back. Definitely, she will be ok,” said party spokesperson CR Saraswath.
The Iron Lady actress come chief Minister Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo hospital since 22 September 2016 after she got fever and dehydration. She is Sixty-eight years old and was treated by a group of doctors from Apollo Hospital including the UK based Dr. Richard Beale and Dr. G Khilnani, Dr. Anjan Trikha, and Dr. Nitish Nayak from AIIMS New Delhi.
She remained at the center of Tamil Nadu politics, but her family has seldom been in the limelight. Her relationship with her sibling and family is bitter and unpleasant memories. She has two siblings Shailaja Jayaram’s sister and Jaya Kumar’s brother who died in 1995 in an accident. Jayalalithaa has cut off all ties with her sister Shailaja Jayaram. There is a near-absence of any family members to be on her side in the hospital. The news reports about her family that trickled in Apollo hints that she was cut off from them. But she has thousand of supporters gathered at Apollo Hospital following news of her Heart attack, according to a recent statement were given by Dr. Richard Beale “everything possible is being done to give her the best chance of surviving.” She is very popular among masses in Tamil Nadu many of whom refer to her as “Amma” (mother), she has an extreme devotion toward her work and always lauded for being a brave lady throughout her life.
