Bihar Declared 3 Day Holiday to Celebrate Prakash Parv
Bihar Government declared a 3-day public holiday to celebrate the 350th Guru Gobind Singh prakashotsava. The tenth and last Sikh guru and the creator of the gracious “Khalsa”.
The week-long celebration beginning on December 30 and will continue till January 5th.
Three tent cities would be constructed for accommodating the devotees. The tent city which will come up in an area of 60.91 acres at Gandhi Maidan would accommodate 30,000 people, while the other one near Gurudwara Kangan Ghat (10 acres) would house 5,000 people. More than 20,000 people would be lodged at Bypass tent city (60 acres).
The state tourism department would be the nodal agency of the grand celebration, there are nine short films on Guru Gobind’s life and history prepared by the tourism department. Panjab Digital Library in collaboration with Bihar Government has organized an exhibition, “Emperor-Prophet Guru Gobind Singh Sahib” at Bihar Museum, Patna. The state government has also invited former chief secretary J.S. Kang to coordinate the birth anniversary celebrations.
Visitors from all over the world, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand are said to visit Bihar on this occasion.
