Besan Ke Gatte Ki Sabzi
Besan Ke Gatte Ki Sabzi (बेसन गट्टे की सब्जी) is a popular Rajasthani special dish, which is absolutely yummy to eat and healthy too. Not even in Rajasthan now this recipe is a favorite among all Indians. So let us prepare the yummy Besan Ke Gatte Ki Sabzi.
Ingredients for Gatte
- Besan 1 & 1/2 cup
- Oil 1 Tsp
- Dahi 2 Tsp
- Jeera 1 tsp
- Chilli powder
- Salt according to taste
- Water
Ingredients for Gravy
- Onion 1 large
- Tomato 2-3 medium
- Ginger Garlic paste 1 Tsp
- Oil 1 Tsp
- Jeera 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 Tsp
- Green Chilly 1
- Salt according to taste
- Turmeric 1/4 tsp
- Garam Masala 1/4 tsp
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method for making Gatte

In a large bowl take besan and add jeera, chili powder, salt, and curd along with the oil and add little water to knead a soft dough.

Similar to the dough we make to prepare chapatti. Now keep the dough to sit for 10 minutes, after 10 minutes take the dough and divide it into long thin strips.

Now boil water in a large pan and put these strips into boiling water and boil them for about 15 minutes. Once done take them out in a plate don’t discard the remaining water it can be used in making curry.

After the Gatte got cooled cut them into 1/2 inch long pieces and they are ready to be put in gravy.
Method for making gravy

In a pan heat 1 tsp of oil and add jeera after jeera starts to crackle add turmeric, coriander powder, and add the ginger-garlic paste.

Make a puree of onion in a blender and add the pureed onion to the mixture and fry it for 5 minutes. Now add the tomato puree and let it cook for 10 minutes after the oil separates from the mixture and add all the remaining spices.

Now in the mixture add water which you saved while boiling gatte if you find the curry little hard you can add more water to make it runny.

After the mixture comes to a boil add the gatte and let it get cooked for 5 minutes at last add garam masala. Now your besan ke gatte ki sabzi is ready to garnish it with green coriander leaves and serve with roti.
