Airtel, Idea and Vodafone offers a Tariff war with Reliance Jio
Bharti Airtel Limited (“Airtel”), India’s largest telecommunications services provider, today launched two new bundled packs for its prepaid customers with free voice calling and substantial data benefits. The two packs will be Rs 145 and Rs 345 pack both the packs offer an affordable option to customers to stay connected at all times and provide sufficient data to stay online through the month.
This step of Airtel comes soon after Jio announced its Welcome offer and Happy New Year offer providing free voice calls and data. According to the Airtel plan, Rs 145 Pack offers 300 MB data to customers with 4G ready mobile phones along with free Local and STD Airtel-to-Airtel calls. The pack will offer 50 MB data (in addition to free Airtel-to-Airtel calls across India) to customers with basic mobile phones, which are ideally suited for web surfing and accessing light social media applications. Rs 345 pack offers 1 GB data to customers with 4G ready mobile phones along with free calls – Local and STD – to any network in India. The pack will offer 50 MB data (in addition to free calls to any network across India) to customers with basic mobile phones, which are ideally suited for web surfing and accessing light social media applications. Both the plans will be valid for 28 days across India.
Reliance Jio has garnered a lot of customer base by announcing its Welcome and Happy New offer. Reliance Jio has ignited a new level of tariff war among telecom providers in India now BSNL also in order to counter Jio have offered free lifetime voice calls plus the introduction of unlimited data STVs.
The idea, on the other hand, announced a Rs 148 and Rs 348 pack with free local and STD calls with Idea customers plus a 50 Mb data, This is valid for 28 days.
Vodafone also along with Airtel and Idea have announced unlimited voice calls for its prepaid customers. It is offering unlimited calls to prepaid recharge above Rs 144 plus free-roaming facility on Vodafone network along with it come and additional 50 Mb free data. For recharges above Rs 344 it is providing unlimited free calls and free-roaming plus 300 Mb free data, all come with a validity of 28 days.
BSNL also claims its lowest tariff in the telecom industry by providing unlimited free voice and data plan for landline/broadband. BSNL is also giving unlimited free data/local/STD calls for mobile customers. After Reliance Jio entry into the telecom sector, a tariff war has begun among all the other telecom giants like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea ad BSNL now only coming months will tell who will rule India’s telecom sector.
