International Yoga Festival (IYF)

International Yoga Festival is held every year in Rishikesh (Yoga Capital of the World) in the first week of February. It is held since its first origin in 1999 by Uttar Pradesh Tourism when Rishikesh was part of Uttar Pradesh.
In 1999, the Government of Uttar Pradesh approached Parmarth Niketan Ashram to host the Festival at the ashram. It began with a handful of people, studying under one or two Yogacara’s has grown into one of the most renowned festivals in the world, now it attracts thousands of participants from all over the world.
In the year 2000 after the formation of Uttarakhand state, the Yoga Festival has been jointly organized by Parmarth Niketan Ashram alongside Uttarakhand Tourism.
Now The International Yoga Festival is organized by Parmarth Niketan Ashram in association with Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism, and Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
The 7-day immersion and celebration of yoga on the banks of Ganga is a gift to yourself, awakened and illuminated at this life-transforming event. IYF’s program includes over 70 hours of Yoga classes from world-class Yoga teachers, plus evening discussions with some of India’s leading spiritual leaders.
During the one-week festival, you will have the opportunity to participate in over 70 hours of Yoga classes from world-class Yoga teachers practicing multiple styles of Yoga including Kundalini Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, and Kriya Yoga.
The participants will also be blessed with the presence, Satsang, and divine words of revered saints and spiritual masters from around the world on a variety of uplifting and inspiring subjects. Know our Yoga Gurus and Spiritual Leaders
In the evening you can view the Ganga Aarti. This year IYF hosts hundreds of yogis from around the world, all coming to grow in their practices and breathe the spiritual atmosphere of Rishikesh.
