National and International Important Days In November
November is the eleventh month of the Gregorian calendar and the ninth month of the Roman calendar and its name in Latin means novem – nine. The winters are arriving in November so the days are getting shorter and the earth is getting colder. The month consists of many important nationally and internationally days like World Vegan Day, World Immunity Day, World Television Day, and Thanksgiving Day. According to the Hindu calendar, the month is considered very auspicious and many festivals and fairs are celebrated during the month.
1 November – World Vegan Day
World Vegan Day is an annual event, celebrated all over the world by vegans on the first day of November, in some countries the whole month of November is Vegan Month. Veganism is the habit of abstaining oneself from using animal products and attempts to limit the exploitation of animals as much as possible. People may choose to go vegan for a variety of reasons, including ethical, health, and environmental concerns.
1 November – Rajyotsava Day (Karnataka formation day)
The Kannada or Karnataka Rajyostava day, marking the formation of Karnataka State is also known as Karnataka Formation Day or Karnataka Day is celebrated on 1st November. It was on 1st November 1956 when Kannada language-speaking regions of South India which were earlier called Mysore State were renamed Karnataka. The day is celebrated by all Kannadigas people globally.
1 November – All Saints’ Day
All Saints’ Day also known as All Hallows’ Day is observed on the day after Halloween on 1st November. From this, the celebration of Halloween has developed, or Hallow’s Eve, the night before Allhallows. All Saints’ Day commemorates the lives of past saints and includes asking for their prayers before God in heaven.
1 November – Haryana Day
Haryana Day is celebrated by the people of Haryana on 1st November. Haryana was carved out of Punjab on 1 November 1966, as the 17 Indian states during the Punjab Reorganization Act. The boundary of the state was carved considering the language spoken by the people. Chandigarh became the union territory serving as the capital of Punjab and Haryana.
2 November – All Souls’ Day
All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day are two important days in many Catholic countries as people remember Christian saints, martyrs, and loved ones who have died. All Souls’ Day is also known as Day of the Dead is a day of remembrance for the souls of those who have died.
5 November – World Tsunami Awareness Day
World Tsunami Awareness Day (WTAD) is being commemorated all around the world in order to raise awareness on the importance of tsunami preparedness and to reaffirm the inherent links between disaster risk reduction and sustainable development. The day raise public awareness of the deadly threat posed by tsunamis and share innovative approaches to reducing risk.
7 November – Infant Protection Day
Infant Protection Day is celebrated on 7th November every year. The main aim to celebrate the day is to spread awareness about the safety of infants and protect their lives by taking proper care of infants. 9 November – Uttarakhand Foundation Day
Uttarakhand Foundation Day or Uttarakhand Diwas is observed on 9th November since 2000 when the new state was formed from the Northwestern part of Uttar Pradesh. Uttarakhand is known as Dev Bhumi or ‘Land of the Gods’. It is home to the four most sacred Hindu Temple or Chota Char Dham. The capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun and the High Court is in Nainital.
9 November – Legal Services Day
Legal Services Day is observed all over the country on November 9th to make people aware of justice for all. The day is observed to commemorate the enactment of the Legal Services Authorities (LSA) Act, 1987. The aim of celebrating the day is to offer free of charge, proficient and legal services to the people belonging to weaker sections of society.
9 November- Kartarpur Corridor inauguration anniversary
Kartarpur Corridor is visa-free access to the final resting place of Guru Nanak in Pakistan. The corridor was inaugurated in 2020 on 9th November so that Indian devotees can visit the final resting place of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak, which is only 4 km away from the international border.

11 November – National Education day
National Education Day is celebrated on 11th November in India. The day marks the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India, who served from 15 August 1947 until 2 February 1958. He was posthumously awarded ‘Bharat Ratna’, India’s highest civilian honor, in 1992.
11 November – Armistice Day (Remembrance Day)
Armistice Day marks the anniversary of the agreement that ended the First World War. Fighting during World War I was temporarily halted during the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918. This day became formally recognized as Armistice Day to commemorate the ending of the war. Since 1954, the day has been set aside to honor all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
12 November – World Pneumonia Day

14 November – Children’s Day
Childrens’ Day also known as Bal Diwas is celebrated on 14th November in India as a tribute to the birthday of India’s First Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and to honor his love for children. He is popularly known as Chacha Nehru among children. Jawaharlal Nehru considered children as the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.
14 November – World Diabetes Day
World Diabetes Day is observed annually on November 14. It was created by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to raise awareness around the globe about diabetes, the different types of diabetes that exist, how they affect people of different ages and incomes, how they affect people’s lifestyles, and different treatments.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru (November 14, 1889 – May 27, 1964) was the first prime minister of the Republic of India. He was a central figure in Indian politics before and after independence. His birth anniversary is celebrated as Jawaharlal Nehru Jayanti.
15 November – Jharkhand Foundation Day
Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar on 15th November 2000 according to the Bihar Reorganization Act so people of Jharkhand celebrate Jharkhand Foundation Day. The day also coincides with the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda also known as Bhagwan Birsa.
16 November – International Day for Tolerance
The International Day for Tolerance is observed every year on November 16. The day is annually observed day aims to educate people about the need for tolerance in society and to help them understand the negative effects of intolerance.
17 November – National Epilepsy Day
National Epilepsy Day, also known as Purple Day, is a day used to spread awareness and educate people on the signs of epilepsy. Epilepsy is a medical condition that produces seizures that affect a variety of mental and physical functions. 26 November – Law Day / Constitution Day
Constitution Day, National Law Day, or Samvidhan Divas is celebrated in India on 26th November to commemorate its adoption by the constituent assembly. The Indian constitution was legally enforced on January 26, 1950. It was the Ministry of Social Justice And Empowerment that took the initiative to commemorate this day as Constitution Day.
