DIGISHALA- EDUCATION CHANNEL FOR DIGITAL PAYMENTS
Digishala a new TV Channel introduced by Government to promote Cashless transaction and Digital payment system.
In order to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology, the Government of India has launched the Digital India program with the vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. A new channel is launched by Law and information technology (IT) minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and called the channel as DigiShala a free Doordarshan DTH channel that will educate and guide people about digital India.
The Digital India program is a flagship program of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. “Faceless, Paperless, Cashless” is one of the professed roles of Digital India. It will tell about various digital payment methods available and how they can be used. It will promote cashless transactions and converting India into a less-cash society, It will guide people about various digital payment options that are available like Banking Card, USSD, AEPS, UPI, Mobile Wallet, Banks Prepaid cards, Point of Sale, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Micro ATM.
The central government will also support ‘Rural Regional Banks’ and ‘Cooperative Banks’ to issue “Rupay Kisan Cards” to 4.32 crore ‘Kisan Credit Card’ holders to enable them to make digital transactions at POS machines, micro ATMs and ATMs.
